Five Elements (Wu xing) philosophy describes interactions and relationships between things. The five elements — wood, fire, earth, metal, and water — are believed to be the fundamental elements of everything in the universe between which interactions occur.
It is a dynamic process of change. In this sense, Wood is not only the actual wood of a tree as defined by the substance, but describes the character, the dynamic state, the elemental force of the element.
Taken in the thomb of Thu Duc at Hue which has been built according to these principles, this photo is remembering us how our body is immersed in this cycle of transformation, in this case, between moving Wood and Earth.
