First a favorite of the king, she had been abandoned,\nfalling into an oblivion made of misery and bitterness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a metaphor but also a goddess, the moon is used to describe the inner sentiment of a fragile beauty. The concubine invokes it as her friend who can share her sadness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The poem has about 15 occurrences of \u201cMoon\u201d which can be expressed with many words in Vietnamese: nguy\u1ec7t, h\u1eb1ng, tr\u0103ng. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Verse 17. \u201cMy perfume would captivate moon and flower,\u201d (H\u01b0\u01a1ng tr\u1eddi \u0111\u1eafm nguy\u1ec7t say hoa)<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Verse 33. \u201cThe fall moon yet unveiled its cool radiance;\u201d&nbsp;(N\u1ec1n \u0111\u1ec9nh chung nguy\u1ec7t\ng\u00e1c m\u01a1 m\u00e0ng)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Verse 113. \u201cI would be a friend of fresh wind and clear moon\u201d (L\u1ea5y gi\u00f3 m\u00e1t tr\u0103ng thanh k\u1ebft ngh\u0129a) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Verse 141 \u201cThe feather gowns scintillated in the moon.\u201d (\u00c1o v\u0169 kia l\u1ea5p l\u00f3 trong tr\u0103ng) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>About the iconography , some photos are also referring to the painting Ophelia done by British artist Sir John Everett Millais.
