In Vietnam, the town of Hoi An is renowned by it small bridge, called Chu Cau Nhat Ban, the Japanese Pagoda-Bridge. This bridge reflects the importance of Hoi An as a merchant port in Southeast Asia in the 17th century.

Japanese, Chinese and French architecture are the marvels of this town.  A typical wooden house has the following structure: a courtyard with a fountain, an upper floor giving a view to the street and the curved roofs of nearby houses.

This photo is from a series published on Vietnam Airlines Magazine with the title of “When Time stand still in Hoi An”  for the timeless charm of Hoi An.
